All graduation requirements must be complete in order for a student to participate in commencement ceremonies.
 
  • Language Arts – Students not passing 9th grade Language Arts will have the following options:
    • Repeat the course in summer school.
    • Take Popular Literature at the High School to satisfy English 9A or take Hot Topics at the High School to satisfy English 9B.
  • Math – Students must complete the Math sequence up through Algebra II.
  • Social Studies – Students not passing 9th grade Social Studies will have two options:
    • Repeat the course during summer school.
    • Take Political Science/CIS Political Science at the High School to satisfy Civics/Social Studies 9A or take any additional Social Studies course at the High School to satisfy Geography 9B.
  • Science – Students not passing 9th grade Science will have two options:
    • Repeat the course in summer school.
    • If a student fails Physical Science 9A (Physics), he/she must take Physics A and Chemistry A and B. If a student fails Physical Science 9B (Chemistry), he/she must take Chemistry A and Physics A and B. 
  • Physical Education – Students not passing 9th grade Physical Education will have to take an additional Physical Education course at the high school.
MINNESOTA GRADUATION TESTING REQUIREMENTS (as of June 18, 2015)

A) Students will take MCA tests in Writing (9th grade starting with class of 2019), Reading (10th grade), Math (11th grade), and Science (11th or 12th grade) 

     
AND

B) Be provided the opportunity to participate in a district-provided college entrance exam (ACT plus Writing Test) in 11th or 12th grade
